This extremely rare and difficult to find vintage 1971 black dial 100% all original JAEGER-LeCOULTRE MEMOVOX AUTOMATIC ''SNOWDROP'' all stainless steel alarm with date ref E877 is in excellent condition. Welcome to the seventies! Extremely rare all original black dial is distinctive without being eccentric. Set against chrome tritium hands, white second-hand, inner white center seconds revolving track with black disc for the alarm I love the shape and contrast of the raised chrome stick baton indices. Outer white minutes/seconds division with quick-set date at 3 o''clock and signed T Swiss Made T at 6 o''clock in mint condition. Smooth running JLC signed JLC cal 916 Swiss 17-jewels automatic HF-high precision ''speed beat'' movement features 28,800/h oscillation (the modern calibre 916 high beat lasted 10 yrs in production) keeps accurate time. Interesting blend of style is this unusual quad-signed (dial,crowns,movt,case back) large 43mm (not including original signed JL crowns) 2 o''clock crown is for winding the alarm reserve & setting the alarm disc time and the 4 o''clock crown is used for setting the time. All stainless steel round satin case with hooded lugs (the model E 877 came with a thicker case) and unusual 14 angle bezel is in near-mint condition. The Jumbo size 40mm one piece case and case back is signed JL logo ''SNOWDROP'' - Stainless Steel - One Piece Case - Speed Beat - Water Resistant - E 877 - 5 ATU - HF 28800 is in excellent condition. Comes with signed Hirsch Carbon 100 M water resistant thick black leather strap, white stitching with matching ss buckle. The jumbo size automatic with date & this very rare black dial is the rarest and most desirable version of the iconic Memovox ever made.
